The Great Dorset Steam Fair, held every year at the end of August to beginning of September is the largest fair of its type in the world. Started in 1969 by Michael Oliver partners, it is now run by his son, Martin.
Situated along the A354 Blandford - Salisbury road, the site covers over 600 acres and attracts visitors from viterally all over the world. Over 200,000 visors attend each year.
It is a remarkable display of 'anything steam'. From traction engines, railway engines and funfairs - to motorbikes, horse-drawn carriages and Moulin Rouge dancers!
