The Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) is one of the biggest Falcons and is found mainly in Europe during the Summer, migrating to Africa and China for the Winter.
A very popular bird for Falconry, they are so much inn demand that wildlife stocks are suffering, avain 'flu also taking its toll on these magnificent birds.
The Saker Falcon hunts horizontally, unlike the Peregrine and its prey are other birds and small mammals. The Saker Falcon does not build its own nest, using other birds nests to lay its eggs.
